If you haven’t heard of Plus Givens and you like hip hop music, wear sneakers, and visit Sneaker Me Stupid you are doing yourself an injustice. Dude is a native Miami rap artist who is on his 2nd Mixtape with DJ Got Now. I know that he has been on a steady grind but within a brief period of time he has definitely made a buzz for himself. His unique style is making a buzz for him but his conscious urban warfare talks relate to the realer side of life. His lyrics are very digital as he speaks of Miami streets to the point you feel almost on the corner in Dade County. Plus Givens puts words together better than most with more than amateur rhymes and some metaphors that make you replay the track. Being creative he gave Wale’s “Nike Boots” a thoughtful flip saying that he “still ain’t in no Nike Boots”, no disrespect but they don’t wear boots in Miami. Plus gives you a versatile look at reality he seems like the type of dude that has a lot of different type of people in his entourage from the urban folk, hood niggas, skaters, real sneakerheads, the chicos, and of course the dreads.
This past weekend on Saturday, August 1 Plus Givens performed at the DunkxChange Charity Concert for HolyGrail in Los Angeles along with the GZA from Wu-Tang Clan, U-N-I, and DJ Clark Kent.

Plus Givens is on the running block in the mixtape game with DJ Got Now, the first mixtape was titled The Garrison To Liberation as his latest mixtape is titled On The Highway Up. Plus Givens has collabed in the studio with Kymani Marley, Rick Ross, and also Lil Jon. He is now having a major presence on the sneaker scene as he is doing shows and appearances at Dunkxchange & Sneaker Pimps. He is really representing hip hop in a great way and Miami is filled with a lot of culture so it’s good to see someone put music together this well from the 305.
