After all the scandal and all that we have recently known about Tiger Woods that still didn’t stop him from being recognized for what he is here for. Tiger Woods is here to play golf and because of his dedication and talent he wasn’t stopped from being named the Athlete of the Decade by The Associated Press. His record was so strong with 64 wins in this decade including 12 majors. Tiger Woods only lost one time with the lead going into the final round. His 56 PGA Tour victories in one incomparable decade were more than anyone except four of golf’s greatest players won in their careers.
Tiger Woods beat out Lance Armstrong, a cancer survivor who won the Tour de France six times this decade, he had 33 votes. Roger Federer, who won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other man, with 25 votes. Record-setting Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps came in fourth with 13 votes, New England quarterback Tom Brady and Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. Not only did he set all kinds of records but Woods finished the decade with $81,547,410 in earnings from his PGA Tour events.
