Allen Iverson – Reebok Sneakers ’96 & ’97

When Allen Iverson was drafted into the NBA in 1996 by the Philidephia 76ers, Reebok took a chance and immediately signed him to a $40 million deal for 5 years. With Allen’s phenomenal rookie season, winning the Rookie of the Year award, Reebok then became an instant success. His first signature sneaker was the Question, which was in coordination with his nickname, The Answer. The sneakers sold in record-breaking numbers and as Iverson continued to perform well on the court so did Reebok. Reebok launched a line of his signature sneakers with a new pair releasing every new season. Allen Iverson definitely has other sneakers that are in his past line up but these are the two that he is most known for by sneaker collectors.

Reebok Question 1996

Iverson wore the Reebok Questions which were released in September 1996 to go along with the uniform three color-ways were originally made, White/Blue/Ice, White/Red/Ice and Black/Gold. There was a White/Ice Blue pair was also made for Iverson which retroed in 1998 and sold out instantly. The sneakers featured a full-grain leather upper. Reebok’s technology of a CMEVA midsole with Hexalite unit, which was Reebok’s first cushioning to be used in an Iverson sneaker, for lightweight, durable cushioning.

Reebok Answer 1997

This was the second sneaker that released for Reebok and Iverson it featured the DMX 10 technology. This technology provides active transfer cushioning driven by the player’s stride. A full-grain leather upper with a mid cut design provides ancle support, while a hidden lacing system provides a superior fit.
