On Wednesday, the 27th, Manchester United was defeated by Barcelona in the Champions League final. And ironically however both soccer teams had a sneaker that was talked about during the week… I wonder if that was planned by Nike. One of the star players on Manchester United by the name of Rio Ferdinand was selected by Nike to design a Nike AF1 for the 1World Collection. Now that the sneaker is about to release, Rio’s design skills showed up and the sneakers has a smooth white upper with a bit of croc leather. The sneaker also makes minimal use of metallic gold and university blue. The sneakers already released in the States, exclusively at NYC based 21 Mercer. The release is super limited as Rio’s home nation the UK will get less than 100 pairs, so they are very exclusive. There will be a special release at the Nike Sportswear 1948 in London on tomorrow, May 30th. Pics via HQ

May 30th – Sneaker Pimps MIAMI

Today, May 30th Sneaker Pimps will hit the city of Miami on such a great weekend as Memorial Day. This should be a good one with all the folks stopping through on vacation from out of town. The first two stops on the Sneaker Pimps US Tour have been my hometown of Atlanta and also my Alma Mater being the city of Los Angeles… and now Miami. The show has a good line up of the Clipse and The Cool Kids even though its not comparing to the Big Boi Performance in Atlanta. Tickets are $20 Presale and you can also purchase at the door if venue isn’t sold out.

And there was a venue change so scratch then venue on the flier which was Soho Studios 2136 NW 1st Ave.

Sneaker Stupid Celebs – What They’re Wearing

Lil Wayne was at the video shoot for his new upcoming music video for the song “Stay Strapped”. Birdman was also on hand at the shoot and the shoot was done in Miami, Florida. Lil Wayne was rocking some adidas Originals for the video. So good choice by him, these adidas Originals by were done by Jeremy Scott. So Lil Wayne appears in this edition of Sneaker Stupid Celebs wearing the Jeremy Scott edition adidas Originals.

The Nike Air Max 97 definitely made a big impact in sneaker culture with the innovative technology introducing its full-length visible Air Unit. Busy P & SO ME x LIVESTRONG x Nike AF1

Busy P also gets to the Nike Air Force 1 some love as does Mr. Cartoon as a part of the Nike Livestrong Collection. Split into two drop, since this is the first 4 sneaker pack, as it drops in July during the time of the Tour de France. The pack basically features only sneakers that can be described as the ‘holy grails’ of sneaker culture.
